Policies and Information

To ensure lessons run smoothly and fairly for everyone, the following policies apply to all bookings with The Simpson Collective.

Please take a moment to read through - and reach out if you have any questions.

1. Bookings & Scheduling

Lessons currently run Monday and Wednesday afternoons during school terms at Bluebird House, Geelong West.

  1. Bookings are made via Square Appointments

  2. Appointment times are confirmed via email, text or Square Appointments

  3. Casual lessons may be available depending on timetable and studio availability

  4. School Holiday lessons may be offered but are not guaranteed

2. Lesson Fees (2026)

See SERVICES page for lesson pricing.

Full payment is due on the day of the lesson, unless otherwise arranged.

3. Cancellation Policy

Life happens - but as studio time and travel are booked in advance, the following applies:

Standard Cancellations

  • Cancellations with at least 24 hours’ notice - no charge

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice - full lesson fee is payable
    (This includes same-day changes and no-shows)

First Late Cancellation

  • Your first late cancellation for the year is free, as a gesture of goodwill

Illness

  • If you/your child is genuinely ill/contagious/unable to sing, please contact us ASAP

  • Where possible, a make-up lesson will be offered

  • Otherwise, lessons are treated as late cancellations

4. Make-Up Lessons

Offered only if a suitable time is available

  1. Must be used within the same term

  2. Make-ups cannot be carried forward to future terms

  3. If no spot is available, the session is forfeited under the cancellation policy

5. Teacher Cancellations

If Jesse needs to cancel a lesson due to illness, performance commitments or unforeseen circumstances:

  • The lesson will be rescheduled, or

  • A credit will be applied to your next booking
    No lesson will ever be charged if it cannot be delivered.

6. Conduct, Safety & Supervision

Jesse holds a valid Working with Children Check and Professional Indemnity + Public Liability Insurance

  1. Students are expected to behave respectfully in the studio and towards Bluebird House facilities

  2. Parents/Guardians remain responsible for student supervision outside lesson time

  3. Students under 18 must be dropped off and collected on time

7. Privacy & Media

Any recordings made in lessons (audio/video) are for learning purposes only

  1. Student performances or self-tapes are not shared publicly without written permission

  2. Families may request copies of recordings for practice if available

To help students get the most out of their time:

  • Bring water, a notebook, and music if requested

  • Please arrive no earlier than five minutes before your lesson

  • No food inside the teaching studio

  • Practice outside lesson times is strongly encouraged!

Lessons can run on public holidays unless cancelled with notice.

NB: Holiday lessons are optional and depend on Jesse’s availability
